The topic of this study is to describe ?Teacher?s Corrective Feedback on The Students? Writing at The Seventh Grade of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Karangagung ? Palang ? Tuban?. In this study, the writer limits the discussion by stating the following problems: how does the teacher give her corrective feedback on the students? writing at the seventh grade of Mts Muhammadiyah 1 Karangagung ? Palang - Tuban? and what are the positive and negative effects of teacher?s corrective feedback on the students? writing to students at the seventh grade of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Karangagung ? Palang ? Tuban?. The object of this study are: analyzing the type of teacher?s corrective feedback on the student?s writing at the seventh grade of Mts Muhammadiyah 1 Karangagung ? Palang ? Tuban and describing the positive and negative effects of teacher?s corrective feedback on the students? writing to students at the seventh grade of MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Karangagung ? Palang - Tuban.
This study used descriptive qualitative method. The researcher takes 27 students (16 male and 11 female) of seventh grade as subjects of the study. The researcher conducted this study twice, it was taken on May, 12th 2017 and on May, 13th 2017. In this case, observation and documentation are used to collect the data.
The result of descriptive analysis show that the teacher mostly gave feedback written and orally. Based on the both research questions, it was discovered that teacher often used direct feedback than indirect feedback when giving corrective feedback on the students? writing, the teacher?s written feedback mostly contains some comments to strengthen students? positive emotion, the teacher provides praise in their feedback such as ?good?, ?great?, ?good idea?, etc, and teacher?s corrective feedback on the students? writing was give positive and negative effects to students.
