Writing skill is an important skill because it will be applied in many aspects of life. In teaching and learning English, there are many strategies to teach students according to the materials or potencies of the students. One of strategies which suitable in teaching writing is Think-Talk-Write (TTW). This research is categoried as classroom action research (CAR).Grounded on the place of researcher did a research. The most of weakness of the students is on writing descriptive text. Researcher uses strategy think talk write for improving students writing skill on descriptive text. So this research was answered a question. ?How to improve students writing skill on Descriptive text using Think, Talk, Write (TTW) strategy at SMPN2 Plumpang? And How does the students responses toward Think, Talk, Write (TTW) strategy at SMPN 2 Plumpang?. The aim of this research is for improving students? skill in writing specifically in writing descriptive text. So researcher was hope this research can truthful for improving students? skill.
The writer conducted two cycles in the classroom action research. Each cycle consisted of three meetings. She used three methods to collect data. There were test, questionnaire, and observation. Before the students was given treatment, the writer measured students skill in writing descriptive text by giving pre-test. After pre-test, the writer applied Think-Talk-Write strategy in cycle I and II. In learning process, the writer observed students" attitude by using observation checklist. It was used to measure students" motivation. In the end of cycle II, the writer gave post-test and questionnaire. Based on the data analysis, the writer found the improvement of students" motivation and students" writing skill after applying Think-Talk-Write strategy in the classroom. The mean of Test I score is 70.79 and the mean of test 2 is 75.26. The increasing is 4.47 points. It means that the students" writing skill and the students" motivation improved significantly.
