Novel is one of literary works that is interesting to read. The writer is interested in the novel The Naughtiest Girl in the School for some several reasons. The first reason is the writer wants to understand deeply the content of novel, especially psychological conflict and characterization of the main character in this novel. The second reason is the writer believes by learning this novel, it can enlarge her life experience. The third reason is the writer wishes to get self amusement by enjoying this novel.
There are two problems that are analyzed in this study. The problems are dealing with psychological conflict faced by the main character and characterization of the main character in the novel The Naughtiest Girl in the School by Enid Blyton.
The writer presents some reviews related to the psychological conflict and characterization. The writer use qualitative research in this study and the writer uses the original novel of The Naughtiest Girl in the School as the data source.
Based on the analysis, it was found five psychological conflicts of the main character that are occurs in this novel, they are Elizabeth got into worried when she know she will send to Whyteleafe School, Elizabeth does not like Whyteleafe School and wants to be send at home, Elizabeth is worried when she broke a rule about money she has spend, Elizabeth is worried and felt wrong about giving surprize to Joan, and Elizabeth confused about stay at school or leave the lovely school. There are some characterization of Elizabeth Allen as the main character. Her characterizations are: spoilt, naughty, selfish, rude, obstinate, care, and good hearted.
