Speaking, as one of four basic skills of English, is the crucial one during the English learning process. It becomes very important when dealing with language learning. Speaking provides a good model for English which provides the students to dare to speak.
The purposes of this research are to describe the implementation of speaking program in the class of speaking and to describe the students? interest in speaking through interaction at the speaking class activity at the fourth semester students of English study program.
The method used in this study was descriptive research. The subject of this study was 2013 B class at English study program of PGRI Ronggolawe University which consists of 23 students. In this research, the instrument of collecting data were observation, questionnaire and interview. From the study it is found that in the implementation, there were several activities applied in the class. The lecturer described the stages of speaking used the technique for the students to choose their own topic they like. The students presented the topic they had learned including the discussion session after the presentation. After that, the lecturer evaluated their performance. Meanwhile, the students? interest in speaking presentation was influenced by the implementation of speaking program including their attention before the presentation, their planning and preparation before the presentation, their presentation and their evaluation. They paid attention toward speaking class during the lesson and they had good planning and preparation before the presentation.
