Song lyric is included as kind of literature because it is language creation (poem) which contains personal feeling expression. Song lyric is like poem but it is served in song form. Song contains figurative language. Figurative language is a way of saying something other than the literal meaning of the word. It is a word or phrase that departs from everyday literal language for the sake of comparison, emphasis, clarity, or freshness. So it will make it not just in their ears, but heart also can feel it. All of them use it to beautify their sentences and give the magnificent words to interest the reader or hearer. These days there were so many good songs with beautiful lyrics sung by newcomer singer. One of them is Adele.
This study is qualitative research in form of documentary analysis. This research used descriptive text analysis method. It means the researcher try to analyzed appearing fact or the data by identifying or describing way. By descriptive method, a literature researcher must express the facts or the data by used descriptive way. The object of this research is analysis figurative language in Adele?s song and the meaning of each figurative languages.
The result of this research is that she found figurative language such as metaphor, personification, symbol, hyperbole, and repetition in ?Skyfall?, ?Make You Feel My Love?, ?Don?t You Remember?, ?Someone Like You ? and ?Turning Tables? text songs by Adele. Adele?s song are dominated by Hyperbole figurative language.
