English is the popular language which is use all over the world as an international language. In learning English the students are supposed to master four language skills,which include listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Especially Reading, because reading is one of the English is to the develop communication competence oral and written. There were many techniques could be used to teaching English one of the technique is Snowball Throwing, from this statement the researcher aimed to applied Snowball Throwing technique in teaching reading for Manbail Futuh islamic boarding, so the problems of this research were: (1) how is the process of improving the students? reading ability by using Snowball Throwing technique? (2) How is the students? achievement that is taught by using Snowball Throwing technique?(3)How is the students? responses toward Snowball Throwing technique ? And the purpose were : (1) To describe the process of improving students? reading ability by using Snowball Throwing technique in ManbailFutuh students boarding Beji ? Jenu. (2) To know the students? achievement that is taught by using Snowball throwing technique. (to know the students? responsess toward Snowball Throwing technique?
The design of this research is classroom action research the subject of this study is the students of sevent class of junior high school of Manbail Futuh who abide in Manbail Futuh Islamic Boarding. It was done on the 19 of May and 26 May 2015. The methods of collecting data are observation (field note), mark of the first and second test, and questionnaire. The data analysis are describing the process of improving the students?reading ability, evaluating the score of reading ability of the students, calculating the result of the students? qestionnaire, and recapitulating the result of the students evaluation
The result of the study shows that the process of improving the students reading ability by using Snowball Throwing technique run well. The students? mean from the first test was 76,6 and from the second test was 84,3. From this result. We know that by using Snowball Throwing techniqu can improve the students? reading ability. Furthermore, from the result of the questionnaire, the students have good responses toward Snowball Throwing technique. They enjoy the process of teaching and learning because they are active when they study by using this technique. In conclution, Snowball Throwing technique can motivated or support students to enjoy read bravely.
