This study is about The Implementation of Start Simple Stories (SSS) Method in Teaching Reading Comprehension at the tenth Grade of MA Raudlatul Muta?allimin Babat. The purpose of the study was to know (1) the implementation of Start Simple Stories method in teaching reading comprehension at the tenth grade of MA Raudlatul Muta?allimin Babat. (2) The student?s responses toward Start Simple Stories method in teaching reading comprehension at the tenth grade of MA Raudlatul Muta?allimin Babat.
This researcher wants to know the influence of this method in students? reading ability and to know the advantages and weakness of SSS method which is implemented to the tenth grade students in XB class of MA Raudlatul Muta?allimin Babat as the subject of the study. There are 30 students as the subject of the study in this class.
This research design used qualitative rersearch in which the researcher wanted to obtain information concerning the current study about the teacher ways in using start simple stories (SSS) method, the result of this study showed that the implementation of start simple stories method can increase students reading comprehension and this technique is needed to be applied because it gave a lot of benefits not only for the students in learning English easily and attractively but also for the teacher in making an reading comprehension in an interesting learning process. While, qualitative manner was used to obtain from the interview and observation of the students? activity and the teacher?s activity.
After collecting data the researcher concluded that implementation of start simple stories (SSS) method made the students enthusiastic in reading activity.
Based on the finding, the researcher can conclude that by using SSS method the students were more active and enthusiastic. Besides that, the students were more confident to read text, answer and present the result of the discussion in front of and also express their opinion to their friends.
