Coloqium Charactreization Of Chili Plant Attached Whitefly Pest (Bemisa Tobaci)

Abstract

It has been reported that the chilli crop in Indonesia has been widely attacted by many diseases caused by
virus, one of the geminiviruses mediated by pest whitefly.The purpose of this study is to identify the
characteristics of chilli crop that is attacted by whitefly pests (Bemisia tabaci). The method used was
analytic observations. The results showed that the presence of necrotic symptoms on stems, curl leaves
and chlorosis leaves. It is caused by a direct attack of whitefly nymphs or imago phase in the form of
suction on the part of the plant. Besides that the above diseases caused by geminiviruses transmitted by
whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) that are viruliferous.
