Code switching is not intented to be used for hiding information in literal sense. In the first time the writer has tought like it before he learned it seriously. Code switching gives alternative strategy to communicate to someone that is new in a group. It points out a solidarity and status of the someone in group, topic switch, and affective function to show making amusing situations by using humor, expressing disapproval and anger. This study aims at analyzing code switching in Indonesia Lawak klub Talk show and reveals the functions of code switching on it.
This study is Qualitative research that is a research which researchs sentences in dialogue of Indonesia Lawak klub Talk show that is code switching and the functions. The object of the study is the use of code switching in dialogue Indonesia Lawak klub Talk show.
It is found that there are 4 kinds of code switching in the dialogue of Indonesia Lawak klub Talk show, like situational switching, metaphorical switching, intrasentencial switching, and intersentencial switching and the functions are situational code switching, topic switch, and affective functions.
