THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PLOTAGON STORY TELLING MEDIA IN TEACHING SPEAKING SKILLS TO THE 8TH GRADE STUDENTS AT SMP MA?ARIF NU ASY-SYAFI?IYAH LOHGUNG

The purposes of this study are to investigate the implementation, the problem and potential solution, and the students? responses to utilizing Plotagon as a teaching medium for teaching speaking skills among 8th-grade students at SMP Ma?arif NU Asy-syafi?iyah Lohgung. This research used quantitative research with a quantitative descriptive approach, which aims to make a detailed description of the implementation plotagon in teaching speaking skills to the 8th grade students at SMP Ma?arif Nu Asy-syafi?iyah. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and students? responses. The location of this study was SMP Ma?arif Nu Asy-syafi?iyah Lohgung. The subjects of this study were the 8th graders of SMP Ma?arif Nu Asy-syafi?iyah Lohgung, with 32 students. The teacher divided the implementation of Plotagon into three parts: Pre-teaching, While Teaching, and Post Teaching. The results showed that the implementation plan had a positive impact on the students in learning of speaking skills, but there were seven problems and solutions that were provided by the students and the teacher. The students' responses toward Plotagon showed that the majority of students felt enjoyed, excited, and interested, which helped them improve their vocabulary usage, pronunciation, and Speaking skills. Additionally, Plotagon's interactive and visual features were successful in holding their attention during speaking exercises.
