IMPROVING STUDENTS? PRONUNCIATION USING ENGLISH DIGITAL STORY IN GRADE VIII AT SMP PGRI 3 TUBAN

Learning English Pronunciation is very necessary especially for students in Junior
High School where they can understand the correct pronunciation before learning
to speak in English. Fun learning media makes students feel happy and more
interested in learning English as an example of applying English Digital Story in
pronunciation learning, because English Digital Story is a fun learning medium
where there are moving pictures that make students enthusiastic in learning
pronunciation and equipped with audio for each word to know the correct
pronunciation of English sentences. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to
improve students' pronunciation mastery in learning English pronunciation by
applying English Digital Story in junior high schools. This research was
conducted using a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach. Respondents
from this study were taken from class VIII SMP PGRI 3 Tuban as many as 26
students and carried out on June 10, 2022 to July 13, 2022. The data were
obtained by field observations, the pronunciation learning process in each cycle,
giving evaluation tests to determine student improvement after carrying out
learning with English Digital Story media and student response questionnaires.
From the results of the research based on oral tests in each cycle there was an
increase in students' mastery of pronunciation and achieving the target value of
the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) 75 and in the questionnaire, it was
found that many students agreed with the benefits and improvements in student
pronunciation after using English Digital Story media
