Abstract
In education, the term assessment refers to the wide variety of methods
or tools that educators use to evaluate, measure, and document the academic
readiness, learning progress, skill acquisition, or educational needs of students.
This research is conducted to analyze the teacher?s assessment in English class
at the seventh grade of SMPN 1 Semanding Tuban. It is conducted to know the
teacher?s assessment used in English class at the seventh grade of SMP N 1
SEMANDING, and the responses of the students towards the teacher?s
assessment.
In conducting this research, the researcher used descriptive analysis as
the design of the research. The subject of this research were one English
teacher and the 7th grade students. As the instruments of the research, interview
and questionnaire were used to collect the data. The data were analyzed
descriptively
The result of the data analysis shows that there is similarity between The
teacher?s techniques in giving assessment and the students? responses toward
the teacher?s assessment.
