This thesis titled analysis of independence of the main character in Cinderella movie by Kenneth Branagh. The objective of the research is to find out that the values of independence which make up theme and characterization in the movie. How can the main character, Cinderella, be considered as an independence. Independence is the behavior of a person to live by independent effort.
In literature, human represented as characters or figures. In this thesis focuses on the analysis of a series of traits and behaviors related to values that refer to the theme. Therefore, the analysis starts from how the theme begins on the structure of the life path then goes to the most difficult conditions in the story which is a foundation and finally found in the coclusion that the hardness, patience, kindness, honesty, struggle and courage is the motivation to became an independent self.
This thesis is the intrinsic approach, it can be said that because the analysis is on the internal elements of the characterization that are the interior of the literary element.
