This research attemp to analysis and describe the implementation of using songs in teaching grammar to the seventh grade of SMP NU Hidayatul Ulum Montong Tuban 2018. Media in teaching learning process is very importance to help students? become effective and interesting in teaching learning process. A Song is an interesting medium that offers the high imagination. The language of songs usually so easy to be understood. The relation will make the students? have bravery to ask the teacher about everything including. In this study there are two questions formulated as follows: how to implement of using songs in teaching grammar to the Seventh grade of SMP NU Hidayatul Ulum Montong Tuban, and how is the students? response according to teaching learning using songs.
The qualitative method is use to conduct this research. However, also used to show the percentage of the data and applied to the collection of data that is structured and which could be represented numerically. A qualitative method is expressed in terms of the nature of its research procedures, which may be contrasted with experimental forms of research design. The data is taken from the observation, questionnaire and test of students?.
The result of the analysis show that the percentage students? after study with using song. There are 79.4% students? like English, just only 26.55% think that English lesson is a difficult subject to learn, there are 58.8% of the students? don?t like grammar lesson, there are 85.3% think that the grammar material is difficult to understand in learning English, there are 94.1% that almost all students?feel like using song media in teaching grammar. There are 85.3% the students? like when the teachers? way in giving song lyrics in grammar class, just only 47.1% feel that grammar given in song lyrics is easy to understand, there are 23.5% fell easy to remember the grammar that given in song lyrics, there are 29.4% the students? want to know all the meaning from the grammar given in song lyrics and the last there are 61.8% the students? interest to read or memorize the grammar in the book.
Finally, the conclusion of them is, the song is very effective used in teaching grammar. It can develop and motivate students? in teaching English, especially grammar. This study is expected to be additional knowledge to teacher and lecturers when delivers the material about grammar how to delivered a good and the students? can understand.
