The purpose of this research is to find out the most difficult part of the listening section (short dialogues, conversations, or talks) and to find out the aspects which are problematic and are mastered by 22 students of the fourth semester of English Education Study Program FKIP university of PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban.
The research design of this study is descriptive quantitative research, which aimed to obtain information the students? listening skill. the subjects are 22 students consisting of male 5, and female 17 from the fourth class in English department of Unirow Tuban in the academic year 2017 who are categorized as intermediate class. The students who joined the test listening skill only 15 students it just because, the rest is absent.. and To collect the data that were needed for this, the writer used one instrument. That is a test, questionaire, and interview
The result of this study shows that It was revealed that The highest percentage of incorrect answers made by the students was 50% while the lowest one was 0%. I also found that there were four of spelling errors. There were spelling errors caused by clusters, diphthong, distinguishing long and short vowels and recognizing words, phrases and sentences. The data can be described respectively as follows: 9.7% errors which were caused by clusters, 40.5% were caused by diphthong, 19.8 % errors which were caused by distinguishing long and short vowels and 29.9 % errors which were caused by error in recognizing words, phrases and sentences.
