There are some factors that influence the success of teaching learning process. One of them is method that is used by the teacher. The aims of this research are to know that video tutorial of procedure text wheter improve students speaking skill of the seventh grades at SMPN 2 Rengel. to know the students responses toward using video tutorial of procedure text in speaking class.
The method is a classroom action research. The research is conducted in two cycle from 9th May-12th May at the seventh grade at SMPN 2 Rengel. The subject are 36 students. The are three instruments of the study: (1) Test; (2) checklist; (3) questionnaires.
The result of this shows that the process of improving students speaking skill of procedure text by using video tutorial at the seventh grade at SMPN 2 Rengel run well. The writer has conducted 2 cycle in this study. Because on the first cycle students? score cannot achieve the minimum completeness criteria, so the writer conducts the second cycle. The average score of the students? score on the cycle 1 is 68,4 and the average score of the students? on the cycle 2 is 76,2. It means that the students? score increases after treatment.
This study also found that the learners feel happy and the students is more enjoyable, fun and motivated during in teaching and learning process by using video tutorial. It means that the techniques is effective to improve students? speaking skillat the seventh grade at SMPN 2 Rengel. and the students gave positive responses toward it. Teachers could use of video tutorial as an alternative method to teach learning process in speaking class.
